My Name Ain't Betty Crocker, But My Best Friend's Sara Lee
Originally commissioned for October's Awareness of Violence Against Women at the University of North Dakota, this play tells the story of how one woman came to be a survivor of domestic abuse. Some of the characters she speaks to are her mother, best friend, and priest.
CAST: It can be performed as a one-woman show, or with multiple actors.
RUNS: approx. 50 minutes.
SET: Simple set pieces required.
NOTES: Originally commissioned for October's Awareness of Domestic Violence performance at the University of North Dakota.

Women with Wrinkles
Explores the relationship between a black woman and a white woman in a nursing home. Their racism is at first a hindrance to their friendship, but over time they realize they have more in common as women than they ever imagined.
CAST: 3 Actors: 1 black, 1 white, both to play women in their late 70s and 80s. 1 additional actor, any age, any gender.
RUNS: approx. 65 mins.
SET: Single-set, nursing home.
NOTES: Commissioned for UND's celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday. Performed at the University of North Dakota, at the Grand Forks Air Force Base for Black History Month, and for the North Dakota League of Women Voters.

Ralph's Ark
The play deals with the impact of the farm crisis on a family in North Dakota. The mother's way of dealing with the crisis and her shell-shocked family is both humorous and poignant.
CAST: Requires 1 Woman, 2 Men, 1 Teenage Girl, and 1 Teenage Boy.
RUNS: approx. 60 mins.
SET: Single set, the kitchen and adjoining living room of a farm house.

Bedside Manners
Explores a woman's relationship with her ob/gyn and nurse practitioner over a period of five years. The play wrestles with numerous questions, including should one expect a different kind of care from a woman physician than from a man, and how much input do women really have when it comes to their medical care?
